Direct Deposit Information

How Direct Deposit Works
Your credit balance from your student fee account is directly deposited into your personal bank account or BUCK I.D. account. Since everything is done electronically, you won't have to trek to Lincoln Tower.

How to Enroll
If you would like to take advantage of Direct Deposit and authorize The Ohio State University to automatically deposit your refund check, read the Answers to Commonly Asked Questions below and complete the Direct Deposit Request Form here.

Answers to commonly asked questions

How can I get information about my Direct Deposit?
Anytime -day or night- visit us online at www.treasurer.ohio-state.edu for questions regarding direct deposit. If you prefer, e-mail your questions to feesdeposits@osu.edu. Every effort will be made to respond within 24 hours (48 hours during registration).

How long after I apply does Direct Deposit take?
After completing the Direct Deposit Request Form, a refund for a credit balance usually takes 2 business days. We recommend that you contact your financial institution first to ensure that ACH transactions are accepted.

How long before the money is credited to my bank account?
Electronic transfer of funds takes a minimum of 24 hours for Bank One accounts and 48 hours for all other bank accounts.

What happens if I change banks or my account number changes?
If you are making a change to your direct deposit request, you must deactivate your previous request and then activate a new request. Deactivate the request for the account you previously designated by going to the Direct Deposit Request Form and clicking the 'Deactivate' button at the bottom of the form. Activate a new request by filling in the necessary fields on the form and clicking the 'Activate' button at the bottom. Each time that you activate or deactivate a request you will receive an email confirmation sent to your OSU email account.

What happens if I want to deactivate Direct Deposit?
Use the Direct Deposit Request Form to deactivate the request for the account you previously designated. You can do this by clicking the ‘Deactivate’ button at the bottom form. After canceling the request you will receive an email confirmation sent to your OSU email account.

Do I need to apply every term?
You only need to apply once. Your request will automatically transfer from one academic term to another. Please note: If there is no activity on your Direct Deposit account for five consecutive quarters (including Summer quarter) the account will be deactivated and you will need to resubmit a new form if you wish to continue in the program.
